Posh v Sheffield United: The Match Preview
Peterborough United entertain Sheffield United at London Road this evening (7.30pm) in the Coca-Cola Championship, a game that was re-arranged following the postponement last month due to the winter weather.
Since that postponement, the Blades have welcome back key personnel from injury, while Posh have lost the services of Jake Livermore and George Boyd.
TEAM NEWS
Posh welcome back Scott Griffiths from an adductor injury, while Exodus Geohaghon is also back in contention after overcoming a foot injury. However, Chris Whelpdale (groin), Josh Simpson (illness) and Ryan Bennett (ankle) are all out.
Sheffield United are without the suspended Darius Henderson. Long-term absentees Gary Naysmith and Ryan France (both knee) and Derek Geary (ankle) are still out.
MANAGER QUOTES
'Sheffield United's away form is second to ours so they are obviously opponents who do not like travelling, but that doesn't mean they are going to be pushovers, far from it.
'They have some excellent players and we will need to put in an improved performance. When we were due to play them originally we had more personnel available to us, but we go with what we have got,' Gannon said.
MATCH FACTS
Sheffield United have scored an unsurpassed 16 goals in the last 15 minutes of Championship matches this season. Posh could become the fourth club Sheffield United do the league double over this term. The Blades have won home and away against Bristol City, Reading and Plymouth. Richard Cresswell is a double shy of 100 career league goals.
BETTING
Posh are 21/10 to win tonight's game, but if you do fancy Gannon's men, how about having a flutter on Lee Frecklington to score first. He is 16/1 with online bookmakers www.theposhbet.com.
